1. Search for whole words. Let's use the artist 'Abba' as an example. Searching for 'abb' or 'ab' will not work. Instead you'll want to use an entire term which is 'Abba'.

2. Each search word requires minimum of three characters. Searches are based off of a system called FULLTEXT via a MySQL database.

3. Even if you don't find the artist you are looking for listed on the artists lists, search for it anyway-- our database includes a wide range of alternate names which are included in the search.

4. Since the search engine finds exact matches to what you type, use as few keywords as possible from a artist's/song's name to allow for different spellings and typos in your search.

5. Be mindful of American English vs. British English spelling. Search for both "color" and "colour," and both "centre" and "center" for example.

6. Avoid using special characters such as "?," and "?" as much as you can. This is mostly due to possible oversight on our part when we enter lyric information (which we are constantly trying to fix, but you never know ;))

7. "+" and "-" work as the same way they do in google so "+Abba -2pac" means all artists that have abba in their name but exclude all that also have 2pac in their name
